Pull up the covers and hit the snooze button

Hooray, the weekend's here!

If you're like most people, one of the highlights of the weekend is getting to sleep in. Everyone knows that we spend a third of our lives in bed. Maybe a good bit more, if you count non-sleeping activities. (Hey, I was thinking about reading in bed -- what were you thinking of?) That's an enormous amount of time. So, what have you done lately to improve the quality of that third of your life?

One of the easiest ways to make your dozing hours even dreamier is to invest in high-quality, ultra comfortable bedding. Soft sheets and a good pillow (or two or three) can be amazingly restorative. For the cold winter months, we recommend flannel sheets for the ultimate in warmth and comfort. When shopping, it's important to note that unlike most sheets, flannel bedding is not rated by thread count, but rather by weight per square yard. The higher the weight, the thicker and more luxurious they'll be.

Some of you may think shopping for nice bedding is too frilly, too extravagant. But don't kid yourself. There's no honor in spending a third of your life in a scratchy burlap sack. It doesn't make you tougher; it's not a renunciation of materialism. So stop fighting it and give it a try -- and see how you really feel.

Sleep tight!
